Am I the drama? I don't think I'm the drama...

"In 2012, Zara was able to design, produce and deliver a new garment in two weeks; Forever 21 in six weeks and H&M in eight weeks. This results in the fashion industry producing obscene amounts of waste." (Earth.org)

This is the real impact of why brands like Zara, Forever21, Romwe, SHEIN, and others with the same suppliers. If they release a top, sell it to 2 million young women, then advertise that piece as ‘out of style’ within such a short period, those women are BOUND to discard those items. Who really has the time or space to continuously shop shop shop and put love into the pieces we already have? Clothing is a large part of both the female and male identity, and when corporations take advantage of our eagerness to support them, the concept of ‘environmentalism’ is just a problem for someone else. Never the precious consumer. In truth, WE are the problem. WE purchase plastic clothes, plastic decor, plastic furniture - mostly made overseas in shops that are ‘regulated’ by a system that wouldn’t pass for a US prison. The problem ends when we slow our appetite for the newest, shiniest front page items and appreciate what we have.
